January Director’s Update
Camp looks a little different this time of year. As I’m writing this, my weather app has Grand Valley at 8 degrees, and that feels generous. With snow perpetually on the ground, it’s hard to believe that we’ll have the swimming pool full of campers and the zip line running in just a few short months. This is a special season at Wesley Woods nonetheless. While we don’t have campers or retreat groups running around the site, we have a chance to reflect on what God has done in the past year and plan for what he’ll do in the future.
I have the privlege of attending chapel services throughout the summer at camp. While the worship sessions are always a blast, Pharaoh Pharaoh remains a crowd-favorite, so much of the relationship building happens during the sessions and the small-group times after. Seeing campers grasp a deeper understanding of a God who loves them is central to the experience at Wesley Woods. For that reason, one of the things I’m most excited to share in 2026 is our pricing freeze.
While the cost of nearly everything continues to rise, our leadership team made a commitment to keep camp affordable. We never want finances to be the reason a camper misses out on a life-changing experience with God at Wesley Woods.
In addition to freezing rates, we’re also continuing several great ways to save:
Bring-a-Buddy Discount: Invite a friend, and you both save $50.
Sibling Discount: $25 off for each additional child after the first.
Early Pay Discounts: $50 off when you register and pay in full by 2/28/2026.
Beyond keeping camp affordable, there’s a lot to be excited about as we look toward Summer 2026:
From staff training and supervision ratios to health protocols and emergency preparedness, camper safety remains one of our highest priorities.
A second year of the Algonquin Canoe Trip under Wesley Woods, building on a great inaugural season.
Staff Applications being open for this summer! Know someone who might be a good fit? We’d love for you to send them our way.
We’re deeply grateful for the community that surrounds Wesley Woods. Our families, churches, staff, volunteers, and supporters make this ministry possible. We couldn’t do it without them. We’re praying for this summer’s campers already and we look forward to welcoming you back in 2026!
