Horse Staff Leadership Training (HLT) Camp 

Future Horse Staff will have the opportunity to come and work with the summer horse staff and Mike Eck who
is the Equestrian contractor for the summer program at Wesley Woods. This will be an extremely valuable
week for any camper that has a dream of being on the Wesley Woods Horse Staff. HLT camp is limited to two
(2) campers per week.

Counselor in Training (CIT) Camp

Camp-counselor basics start this two-part Counselor in Training (CIT) program. CIT is a program for 15 - 17
year olds to learn how to be and practice being a camp counselor.

Part One This is the first part of the CIT training program. The weekend begins with registration at 7 pm on
Friday evening and concludes on Sunday at 1 pm. This is a very intense time focusing on learning counselor
skills as well as accepting new challenges in your faith journey. As you learn more about yourself, as well as
your fellow CIT's, you will learn how to apply these new skills to various age levels. This session is almost
exclusively classroom work and theory.
The CIT leadership training weekend dates are:
                             Wesley Woods         May 4 - May 6

Part Two You will be invited by your dean to register for Part Two (the CIT week) once you have successfully
completed the weekend portion. In summer CIT Week, you will be rooming with mini campers or elementary
campers and their counselors. You will have hands-on experiences under the guidance of those counselors.
You’ll gain additional training in Bible study preparation and presentation, worship, games, evening activities,
and age level characteristics. In the afternoon each day, CIT’s gather for additional classroom work providing
time for questions and accountability about what they are learning from their campers.

Once you have finished this process, you may be invited to serve as a CIT for one additional week during the
summer of 2012. This must be coordinated through your CIT Dean or site representative.

Bonus: When you are accepted into the CIT program, you receive a $50 discount toward the cost of attending
another conference senior high event.
